AirScanner

Privacy, plainly.

Effective

AirScanner processes scans on your iPhone or iPad. The developer does not collect your scanned documents, recognized text, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or app account data. There is no app account, developer backend, advertising, analytics SDK, or app-managed cloud sync.

What your device stores

The app keeps saved PDFs, document metadata, recognized text used for search (OCR), and small settings on your device. OCR runs on-device. Deleting a document in the app removes its PDF and OCR index from the app; it does not remove copies you previously exported or copies in existing backups.

Normal iOS or iPadOS backups can include app data, depending on your system settings. Local storage is not a promise that data can never leave your device: backups and destinations you choose may store copies elsewhere.

Connecting to a scanner

Local Network permission lets AirScanner discover and communicate with compatible scanners on your local network. Scan commands and images travel between your device and the scanner, not through a developer server.

Use a network and scanner you trust. A scanner connection may use unencrypted HTTP. For HTTPS connections, trust is scoped to the discovered scanner rather than normal public-web certificate validation. AirScanner does not promise end-to-end encryption or that a local network is secure.

Actions you choose

This website and its host

This is a static website. It adds no analytics, tracking, cookies, contact forms, third-party scripts, external fonts, or embedded third-party resources. External links load their destination only when you follow them.

GitHub Pages hosts this site. GitHub logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security, including visits made without signing in. See GitHub’s Pages data-collection disclosure and GitHub General Privacy Statement for how GitHub handles that information.

Questions and public support

For general questions, use the public website-repository issues. Posting is voluntary. Issues are public: maintainers and others can see your post and public GitHub account information. GitHub operates this service under its own privacy statement linked above.

Do not post scanned documents, personal information, or network identifiers such as IP addresses, Wi-Fi names, or scanner serial numbers. Describe the problem without those details.

Policy updates

Changes to these practices will be reflected here with an updated effective date. This page describes the app and website practices as of the date above.
